File Guidelines

LuxePockets File Guidelines

At LuxePockets, we specialize in solid single-color foil stamping, which requires your design to be in 100% black. Black areas in your artwork will represent the foil-pressed areas, while white areas will remain unprinted. To ensure compatibility with our process, please follow these guidelines and outline all fonts before submitting your file. This ensures text is preserved accurately, even if we don’t have the fonts you used.

Accepted File Formats

We accept the following file formats: PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, SVG, JPG, JPEG, PNG.

Design Requirements

  • Single-Color Foil Stamp: Artwork must be created in black and white only.
    • 100% Black: All areas to be foil-stamped must be in solid black (no gradients or shades of gray).
    • White Areas: Represent unprinted spaces.
  • Fonts: Convert all text to outlines. In Adobe Illustrator, go to Type > Create Outlines before saving your file.
  • Resolution: All rasterized images must be at 300 DPI (pixels per inch) to ensure sharp, high-quality results. Files below 300 DPI may appear pixelated.

Software-Specific Guidelines

Adobe Illustrator (Preferred for Vector Artwork)

Illustrator is ideal for creating vector-based artwork and setting type.

  • Prepare Your File:
    1. Outline all text: Go to Type > Create Outlines (this ensures fonts are preserved).
    2. Embed all linked images: Use the Links palette to embed any external images.
    3. Save your file as PDF, AI, EPS, or SVG.
  • Pro Tip: Save a separate version of your file before outlining text, so you can edit your type later if needed.

Adobe Photoshop (For Rasterized Artwork)

Photoshop works well for creating raster-based designs.

  • Prepare Your File:
    1. Set your document resolution to 300 DPI for all rasterized images.
    2. Use 100% Black for foil areas and white for unprinted areas.
    3. Save your file as JPG, JPEG, or PNG.
